If you’ve already begun Nidra therapy, explore our video library for information and guidance on all things Nidra.
Discover the components of your Nidra system, including the Compressive Conductive Garments (CCGs), e-modules, CDIs, and accessories for seamless therapy sessions.
Congratulations, you’ve taken the first step on your treatment journey with Nidra. This instructional video has all the information you need to begin Nidra therapy.
Chapter 1 – System Overview
Your Nidra Tonic Motor Activation system includes two Therapy Units, one for each leg. Each Therapy Unit is made up of a Compressive Conductive Garment, or CCG, and a compact e-module.
The CCG is a comfortable fabric wrap that fits securely around your leg, just below the knee.
Inside the CCG, the e-module houses advanced electronics and a rechargeable battery, bringing smart, adjustable treatment right to your fingertips. With easy-to-use buttons, you can turn the system on or off, fine-tune treatment levels, and check the device status.”
The system also include Charge Dispersing Interfaces (or CDIs). These are reusable adhesive pads that send a gentle, targeted current from the device to the treatment area.
To keep your Nidra Tonic system powered and ready, each kit includes charging accessories, including an AC wall adapter and two USB charging cables.
These make it easy to recharge the batteries on each device, ensuring you’re always prepared for your next session.
Your Nidra Tonic system also comes with a durable, water-proof carrying case. This makes it easy to take your device with you wherever you go, keeping it safe from moisture and damage.
If you require replacement supplies at any point during therapy, you may contact Noctrix to place an order.
Learn how to insert and remove the e-module, ensuring proper setup for optimal therapy.
To get your Nidra system ready for use, the first step is to insert the e-module. The e-module, powers the Nidra system and manages the current flow for effective treatment. To insert the e-module, lay the CCG and e-module flat as shown. Hold the CCG along the seams, and while holding the battery end of the e-module, slide the end with the metal contacts into the pocket of the CCG until the metal contacts are visible through the circular openings.
Now turn the band over so the Nidra logo is facing up. Confirm the LED strip is aligned with the window in the CCG. Gently press down on the fabric all around the LED strip until you feel it snap into place.
If you need to remove the e-module, place the CCG containing the e-module flat on the table with the pocket facing you. Slide your fingers under the e-module until it unsnaps from the CCG fabric.
Grasp the e-module while holding the end of the CCG to slide the e-module out of the CCG pocket.
Understand how to prepare, place, and maintain CDIs for consistent and effective therapy.
Locate your unopened CDIs. Tear open the pouch along the top edge and remove one CDI.
Using the corner tab, peel away the blue liner and discard.
You will notice two circular windows on the backing of the CDI and a tab on one end.
Line up these circular windows with the circles on the inside of your device and ensure the tab of the CDI matches the notch on the band. Firmly press the CDI onto the device.
Repeat each step for both devices.
Each CDI has a reusable liner on the exposed side. When using your devices, remove the liner and store it in the CDI bag. After each use, replace the liner on the CDI to help preserve its quality.
CDIs should be replaced weekly.
You may contact Noctrix at any time to order replacement CDI’s.
Master the functions of the buttons to turn on the device, adjust treatment levels, and unlock controls for customization.
The Nidra device has two buttons located on either side of the light bar. These buttons will serve different functions based on how they are pressed.
First let’s review the + and – buttons when clicked at the same time. After a short period of inactivity the controls of the device will lock. When clicked briefly together, the + and – buttons will unlock the controls. The treatment level lights will appear and allow the user to adjust the treatment levels.
Next, let’s review the + button. If you press and hold the + button for 3 seconds, this will turn the device on.
When the buttons are unlocked, if you briefly click the + button (without holding it down), this will increase the treatment level by a level of one.
After pressing the + button, you will also be able to view the L/R light to determine which leg to place your device on.
Now lets review the – button. If you press and hold the – button for 3 seconds, this will turn the device off and end a therapy session.
Also, when the buttons are unlocked, if you briefly click the – button (without holding it down), this will decrease the treatment level by a level of one.
Navigate the device’s LED indicators to monitor leg placement, battery status, and treatment levels with ease.
There are 3 different kinds of LEDs lights that we will review in this section. The left/right lights, the charge status lights, and the treatment level lights.
First lets review the Left/Right lights. These are located on the underside of the band in the oval window of the CCG. The L/R light is lit for 5 minutes after the device is unplugged and for 5 minutes after the + button is pressed. If an “L” is visible then it is for the left leg. If an “R” is visible then it is for the right leg.
Next let’s review the charge status lights. The Charge status is displayed when the device is plugged-in and charging. If unplugged with therapy off, clicking the + button will display the charge status.
Solid green indicates that there is typically enough charge for a full therapy session.
Solid orange indicates a low charge, but it is ok to proceed.
Blinking orange indicates that the battery is empty and you will not be able to start a therapy session.
Finally, let’s review the treatment level lights. When you first begin a therapy session, you will see the blinking white treatment level light along with a blinking green status light. For the first 20 seconds, the device will be ramping up to your treatment level. If these lights do not appear, the device was not turned on.
After the initial 20 second ramp period, the white treatment level lights will indicate the treatment level from 1 to 5. The treatment level lights remain off unless the device is unlocked by clicking the + and – buttons at the same time.
Keep your devices ready for use by following simple charging steps and understanding charge status indicator
To charge your Nidra devices, simply connect the USB plugs to the wall charger, and connect to a standard wall outlet.
Connect the USB-C plug into the USB-C female port on the e-module.
Once connected, the ORANGE Status Light shows that the device is charging. You should charge both devices after each use and keep them charging when not being used.
A full charge can take 2 hours until the Status Light turns GREEN.
If the Status Light is OFF, the battery is not charging. Try plugging your devices into the charger again or check the power supply to the outlet.
Identify the precise treatment area on your leg to ensure the device is positioned correctly for effective therapy.
To find the target treatment area, sit with your lower leg at a 90 degree angle to the floor.
Place your finger on your outer ankle bone.
Move directly upwards along the outside of your leg until you reach the next bony landmark.
The treatment target is located where the outside of the hamstring muscle attaches. You can use this as a reference point to confirm that you’ve found the correct spot.
If it’s difficult to find the bony landmark, try rotating your foot from outside to inside. This will make it easier to see and feel the bone at the top of your calf.
Once you’ve located the target treatment area, you can mark the spot with a skin-safe marker to help with the device placement.
Securely apply the device to your leg using the CDI and ensure a snug fit with the band for optimal treatment.
When you’re ready to wear your device, click the “+” button on one of your devices and look for the L/R light to appear on the underside of the band. This light indicates which leg to place the device on.
Now, carefully remove the reusable liner from the inside of the device to expose the rectangular, sticky part of the CDI.
Place your device so that the top white mark lines up with the top of the target treatment that you marked on your leg earlier.
Directly apply the CDI to the skin and apply firm pressure around the CDI to ensure it sticks and stays in place.
Apply the CDI directly to the skin and apply firm pressure around the CDI to ensure it sticks and stays in place.
With one hand holding the CDI in place, use the other hand to wrap the band around your leg. Wrap clockwise for the left leg and counterclockwise for the right leg.”
Pull the band firmly around your leg to ensure a snug fit, and secure it with the Velcro. Repeat these steps on both legs. If you feel any tightness or discomfort, adjust or reapply the device with less compression.
Begin, adjust, and complete your therapy session comfortably, with automated features to suit your needs.
Check that the devices for both legs have enough charge by checking for the green status light while charging. You can also verify the battery status by clicking the ”+” button while the device is disconnected from the cables.
The status light indicates the charge status:
Solid green: Typically enough charge for a full session
Solid orange: Typically enough charge for a half session
Blinking orange: Very low charge. A session cannot start
Once you have placed the devices on both legs, you can start a therapy session for each device by pressing and holding the “+” button for 3 seconds.
From 0 to 20 seconds you will see a blinking white status light and a blinking green status light as the intensity gradually increases to the mid-point of your therapy settings (treatment level 3).
From 20 to 30 seconds, the treatment level lights will display the therapy level of the device. During this 10-second window, you can adjust the treatment level from 1 to 5 based on your comfort and therapy needs.
After the initial 30 seconds, unlock the controls to adjust your treatment level as needed.
If the white lights aren’t showing, unlock the device by quickly pressing the + and – buttons at the same time. Make sure not to hold the buttons down.
When the white treatment level lights appear, you will have 10 seconds to adjust the treatment level.
Now relax and continue your normal activity during the session, including falling asleep. The device will turn off by itself after 30 minutes.
To remove the devices, click the + and – buttons briefly to unlock. If the white treatment level lights appear, the session is still in progress. Wait until the session is complete prior to removing the devices. If treatment level lights do not appear, then the session is complete and you can remove the devices.
Detach the devices from your legs with the CDIs attached to the devices. Replace the reusable liners on the CDIs.
Fine-tune your therapy by increasing or decreasing treatment intensity to match your comfort level.
Welcome to Chapter 10: Adjusting the treatment level
When you turn on the device, therapy will automatically begin at treatment level 3. To adjust the treatment level, first confirm that the device is unlocked. If no white treatment level lights are visible, unlock the buttons by briefly clicking the + and – buttons at the same time.
Press the + button to increase the treatment level. Each light represents a level, so as you press, an additional light will turn on to indicate the next level
Click the – button to decrease the treatment level by one level.
End your therapy session automatically or manually, with guidance on safely removing the device if needed.
Remember that a therapy session will automatically turn off by itself after 30 minutes (and you can wear the devices through the night).
If the treatment intensity is uncomfortable at any point, try decreasing the Treatment Level.
If the intensity remains uncomfortable at level 1, you can stop treatment by pressing and holding the – button for 3 seconds to turn off the device. As soon as the treatment level lights turn off, release the – button and remove the device from your leg.
